5074 Goetzoertel (1949 QQ1) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on August 24, 1949, by the Indiana Asteroid Program at Goethe Link Observatory near Brooklyn, Indiana. It was named for Goetz V. Oertel, a president of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy.
